I vote for ... Birds!
In these times, so given to each question to save your furniture and where commitments avoid politically incorrect rule of thumb is once again who have no right to express his opinion just proving as always, the hardest hit. I do not speak of the most disadvantaged, the poor, who bear unbearable mortgages or those who after a lifetime full of work and effort they meet face to face with the coldest of solitude. No, this post is not about them. And is not that they deserve more than anyone but let's face it, the theme of this blog is the ornithology and all those likely to interact with it.
"So who will address?" Asks a reader to review these lines. Well who is going to be birds. Or is not this a blog dedicated to the birds?
As many of you know, the day after March 1 will be held in Galicia about elections of crucial importance to all citizens. As always, all adult citizens may exercise their right to vote. And I think we all should.
Yes, you read it. This post is a call without obstacles or half measures to voter turnout at the polls to shape our thinking. And ornithologists, bird watchers or nature lovers in general should do more so. And, friends, the birds do not vote. Or is that someone has ever seen a brent goose at a polling station?. Okay, I know that this is not a sedentary species on our land, and therefore not entitled to vote, but I could not contemplate in times past to a tawny owl or a chatterbox registered on the electoral roll.
jokes hand, ornithologists like all my neighbors vote for our political ideals but also a little-if I may, for the welfare of the birds, reflected this in the proper conservation and management of forests, wetlands, estuaries, the so many lakes and ecosystems. Each political party represented ideals were well known to all, and also a way to act more or less sensitive to the environment.
So regardless of your political persuasion, I make a day of dogs, to give you lazy, please go to the polls. And vote for our birds, the same throughout the year give us many moments of joy.
had to say ....
