"Basic Astronomy Course 2007"

On Monday 22 January at 19:00 local time (GMT-01: 00), the Nicaraguan Association of Amateur Astronomers (ANASA), whose final objective is to contribute to the enrichment of the scientific culture of the Nicaraguan society, launched the third edition of the course "Basic Astronomy 2007."

The course is chaired by our President Dr. Jaime Incer in collaboration with members of the association and is taught in the auditorium Ponzol Astorqui faculty of Environmental Sciences at the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA)

The course supports audiovisual projections and telescopic and is planned so that the theoretical part taught in the same (18 hours) is consistent with the practice or observation (6 hours) to give the student a complete overview of the most basic and general knowledge of astronomy.

At the end of the course will issue a certificate of participation for those who have attended at least nine sessions, providing flexibility for those who like to go to their areas of interest. Already ANASA

appreciates the cooperation and continued support gives us the UCA as an expression of a joint interest in our quest to achieve our goal.

Background, the open star cluster NGC 290 located at 200 thousand light years in the satellite galaxy to our own (via lactea) in the Small Magellanic Cloud.
